Here is a story told at the annual meeting……

You know how the society has been cutting costs, part time help, cutting back

on cd;s selling property etc... well , you know the famous WATCHTOWER

READ GODS WORD DAILY " sign is on one side of the place,,,, well ,,, on the

other side is a sign but also a clock which is lit at night! Well the G.B, decided

that it cost too much in electricity so they decided to turn it off! Now remember ,

this has been lit since forever as far as bethel goes. Well they got inundated

with phone calls and Emails telling them that the clock was dark and the lights

were out, The brothers would politely answer that yes they understood but that

they are cutting costs so decided to turn it off. WELL..... the MAYORS office

eventually p honed and said that THEY were inundated with calls objecting to

the clock being turned off , so when the brothers told them about the cost

cutting the mayor said....." We will have a man come over and put a meter on

that side and the City will pay for it!!!! .........WOW talk about a LANDMARK!!!!

JEHOVAH is amazing and truly awe inspiring!!!

setting is obviously in the "new system", i'd say quite some time after the big a. everything looks neat and clean, so it can't be just few months or even years after the big slaughter.. let me point out few things that made me laugh:.

every effort was made to depict natural materials, but you see leather straps with metal rivets holding the picnic basket lids.

They will import their clothes from China. Why don't they

show the inside of the pretty houses sitting on the hill sides?

Maybe because they will be not be using dish washers, refrigeratures,

electric or gas stoves. If there is electicity where are the power

plants with their large stock piles of coal? If there is gas who is going

to man the gas and oil wells?

It is all about counting hours.

study with a progressive Bible student?"

It says that there are "two publications that need to be completed

"What does the Bible really teach? and "Keep yourselves in Gods

Love." This is true even if the student gets baptized before

finishing the books. After baptism we may continue to report the

time, a return visit and the study. If a publisher accompanies us

he may also count the time."

In reading this I wonder how a person who is going to start a

Bible study would feel realizing that the JW is going to clock in when

the study starts to count time? If the person is newley baptized they

no doubt are going from door to door. So on a cold Saturday

morning they are both going from door to door together, both counting

time and things are not going so good due to bad weather.

The witnesses says to the newly baptized person, "hey lets

go to your house and continue to finish the books and I can

cound my time. The newly baptized person says "is that fair

that you can stay punched in and I can't?" One could reason

"well since you are newly baptized JW publisher and you are

accompanying me to your study well then you might as well stay

punched in too and keep counting your time and that way it is a

win win for both of us."

How many hours a month are reported for Witnesses studying

with people who are already Witnesses who have not finished

both books?

Counting time for helping people learn the Bible is so absurd.

Howerver, I am sure that Jesus and his apostles counted their

time when they did their preaching.

I was reading the latest public Watchtower and

it was talking about Armageddon. The article

said that "soon God will destroy all of the wicked

and all those opposing God." Anyone who is not

a JW would not include themselves as God's targets

because they would not consider themselves as being

wicked or as opposing God. If the Watchtower printed

what it really meant ( God will destroy anyone who is

not a Jehovah's Witness ) then they would really be

seen for what they really are which is a cult.

I wish that the Witchtower would really print what

they mean and quit sugarcoating thier message.

At our hall the dubs will say how sad these disasters are and

how many inocent people die. However they turn around and

look forward to God killing everone on earth except the JW's.

In looking at the terrible destruction in the pics from Japan

what a mess they have to clean up and they will have the help

of foreign nations. Imagine the whole earth looking like that

after Armageddon and about 2 million men and 2 million women

and 3 million kids having to clean the mess up.

for a long while i have been coming to this site on a daily basis and i think it is time to introduce myself.

here we go: my parents learned the truth when i was 4 and i don't have childhood memories of how life was before they converted.

i was a model jw child, although quite mischievous at school.

Is the April 2011 Auxillary Pioneer 30 hours official ???

we were not at the meeting last weekend and just wondering if the "30 hour" rule for april 2011 pioneer hours was actually read to the congregations ???.

It was read Sunday at our Hall. The brothers and sisters were

almost giddy with excitement. The brother reading the letter

said that it was another blessing from Jehovah.

When I pioneered many years ago, I had to log in 100 hours.

Now in April you can pioneer for 30 hours and you can be

a publisher with 15 minutes a month. Their aim is to make

the goal of pioneering so low in hours that those who are logging

in 15 to 20 hours will feel guilty if they are not pioneerig.

When you fill out the pioneer application in April you have

to put down if you are going to be a 30 hour pioneer or

a 50 hour pioneer. What would happen if they did not have

to turn in time? There would be a large work stopage.

Birthdays: Anniversaries of baby showers?

well, aren't they?

my jw father is arguing with me about holidays and birthdays so i asked him what baby showers were and how they differed from birthdays?

if mother's day and father's day are wrong, how is a baby's day (shower) not idolatry too?.

You can celebrate the birth of a baby but not the anniversary of

the birth of the baby.

Only a JW would find that to be reasonable.
